Temporary Part Time
Flag Football/ Ultimate Frisbee Coaches
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Instruct youth in the fundamental skills of Flag Football and/or
Ultimate Frisbee.
Develop and implement a schedule for every practice.
Prepare game set-up.
Maintain conditions of playing area.
Maintain a safe and supervised environment.
Supervise Sports Program and participants on-site at all times.
Collect registrations and fees, as needed.
Attend to minor accidents and emergency situations.
Act as a liaison between participating schools and the City of Lakewood.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of the rules of Flag Football and/or Ultimate Frisbee.
Ability to work with youth 12 to 14 year olds.
Ability to demonstrate techniques for Flag Football and/or Ultimate
Frisbee.
Basic first aid.
A criminal background check is required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position involves working the majority of the time in a gymnasium
and/or on a field, instructing/coaching Flag Football and/or Ultimate
Frisbee, and ability to lift 40 pounds.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must be 16 years of age to be an Assistant Coach and 18 years of
age to be a Head Coach.
Experience in youth programs, athletics and/or appropriate areas
such as recreation, physical education or coaching is preferred.
DATES/SALARY:
2-5:30pm, Mon/Wed (Ultimate Frisbee), and/or Tues/Thurs (Flag Football)
from Aug 30-Oct 14
Salary is $9.25/hour for Head Coaches and $8.48/hour for Assistant
Coaches.
Positions available at Creighton, Dunstan, Carmody and O’Connell
middle schools.
