Letter from the Chief

Greetings. My name is Kevin Paletta and I am the Chief of the Lakewood Police Department (LPD). I would like to take the opportunity this web page provides to introduce you to our outstanding organization.

The nearly 400 employees and more than100 volunteers of the Lakewood Police Department are committed to providing the highest possible level of police service to our community. The mission of the LPD is "to serve and protect with integrity, intelligence, and initiative." We accomplish this mission by utilizing a form of community policing we call Sector Based Policing (SBP). In SBP, police agents, sergeants, and detectives are deployed geographically so they can become familiar with the individuals and neighborhoods they serve. Working in partnership with these neighborhoods, the LPD strives to find solutions to the crime and quality of life issues we face.

I am extremely proud of the men and women that I have the pleasure to work with at the LPD. We select, retain, and recognize only the best employees. Every one of us strives to provide an incomparable level of service. It is our daily challenge to provide a level of service that meets your needs.
