Minimum
requirements include:
- Bachelor's
degree in any discipline -- NO EXCEPTIONS
- 21
years of age at time of appointment
- US
Citizen or proper I-9 documentation
- Other
essential functions listed in the job description

You
must also have no felony convictions at any time in your life; no
hard drug use within three years; no marijuana use within 18 months;
and no driver's license suspensions within three years. Recent drug
use and other issues can disqualify you from the testing process.
If disqualified for any reason, reapplication can be made at any time
in the future.
Salary
for a Police Agent is highly competitive for the Denver metro area,
with an excellent benefits package:

The
Police Academy
The
academy is 22 weeks long, with classroom time usually 8 a.m. to
5 p.m.. It is located at the 1955 S. Old Kipling Street in Lakewood.
During the academy portion of the training, you will receive instruction
in firearms, arrest control, driving, the Colorado Criminal Code,
Municipal Penal and Traffic Code, Spanish language for law enforcement,
and Police Department policies and procedures, as well as in-depth
training in officer safety.
Field
training following the academy lasts approximately 14 weeks.
Upon graduation, you are eligible for a salary increase.
Ride-alongs
are also encouraged, giving potential applicants a chance to observe
the duties of a police agent up close. Call the Patrol Division
