Dispatch Sit-Along Program
The
Lakewood Police Dispatch Center has opened its doors to interested
citizens who are looking to gain insight into how 911 Emergency
and non-emergency calls are handled.
If
you live, work or attend school in the City of Lakewood and are
over 18 years of age (or 16 with a parent's consent) you are eligible
to participate in the 911 Dispatch Center Sit-Along Program. It
is our hope that you will find this experience both informative
and enjoyable.

Participants
are allowed to visit once in a 6-month time frame.

Visits
are arranged for a 2 to 4 hour time frame: however, depending
upon the events and call load that develop, you may be asked
to leave at any given time.

Participants
will not be allowed to sit with the warrants channel dispatcher
due to the sensitive nature of the information processed at
that position.

A
background check will be conducted prior to your visit.
